Game Design & Visual Design
Letters began as an experiment for our second studio, PlayWell. We wanted to distill a simple and familiar concept and flip the idea back on its head. What we came up with was a game that looks a lot like a traditional word search, but plays a bit more like minesweeper.
We wanted the game to be about the conflict of precision and time constraints. Players are tasked with racing against a clock to discover words by only eliminating letters in the puzzle that aren't part of the contained words. Is it hard? Yes.
